The more devoted, the more reason to lie

"The more devoted, the more reason to lie." A dialogue from House MD, S2 ep10, sums it up well. Case at hand: Bipolar guy falls madly in love with girl, hides his disease from her, gives up drinking and smoking and drugs and all of that to live the life he wants with her; falls, head injury gives him away- not because he was diagnosed but because he told the doctors the truth while he hid it from his wife. Conclusion: People lie, albeit with good intentions sometimes. But the more closer you are, the more badly you want something, the more you fear losing it and the more scary the thought of living without it- the more you lie, cheat, run, chase, pretend to have/save it. The more devoted, the more reason to lie.

Solution: Give space. So much so that you feel distant at times but that's better than being lied to. Not being around/not caring too much is better than being too involved and attached. Because people want/need to keep some things to themselves. And the further you stay, the lesser they need to lie.

P.S.- I know I sound cynical. My thoughts sound cynical to me in my head too. What to do, it's how I feel right now.

What if your worst fear comes true by giving "space"? Giving too much space makes u look cold-heated and carefree too.

Shouldn't u just share everything u feel/do naturally? I mean, why to hide any feeling from the one u love ?
